Blockchain Provenance Wallet

Introduction

Introduction

I worked with Tenheads, a blockchain technology company that specializes in building innovative solutions for various industries. The company's mission is to leverage blockchain technology to create a more transparent, secure, and efficient future.

Problem Statement

Problem Statement

The problem we were trying to solve was the lack of trust and transparency in supply chains, especially in the luxury goods industry. Consumers want to know that the products they purchase are authentic and ethically sourced. However, the current system of provenance tracking is fragmented and susceptible to fraud.

Research

Research

To better understand the problem and its context, I conducted both primary and secondary research. I started by conducting user interviews with potential users of the product to get an understanding of their needs and how they interact with current blockchain-based wallets. I also conducted a competitive analysis of existing blockchain-based wallets and their features to identify gaps in the market.

From the research, I found that users of blockchain-based wallets are concerned about the security and privacy of their transactions. They want a wallet that provides them with transparency in terms of the transaction history, and also protects their data from potential hackers.

Personas

Personas

Persona 1: Casual User

The Casual User is a male or female between the ages of 20 and 35 who lives in urban areas. Their main goal is to securely manage and store cryptocurrency while accessing their transaction history and balances. However, they face a pain point in their limited knowledge of blockchain technology and difficulty in navigating complex features. Additionally, they desire a user-friendly interface but lack trust in wallet security.

Persona 2: Experienced Trader

The Experienced Trader is a male between the ages of 25 and 45 who lives in urban areas. Their main goal is to securely manage and store large amounts of cryptocurrency while accessing advanced trading features and a high level of transparency in transactions. However, they face a pain point in their limited access to advanced trading features, lack of transparency in transaction history, and difficulty in managing multiple wallets.

Persona 3: Business Owner

The Business Owner is a male or female between the ages of 30 and 55 who lives in urban areas. Their main goal is to securely manage and store large amounts of cryptocurrency for their business while accessing transaction history and analytics. However, they face a pain point in their difficulty in managing multiple wallets and limited ability to delegate authority to employees. Additionally, they desire the ability to delegate authority to employees but lack transparency in transaction history.

Stories

Stories

Based on my research and personas, I created ten user stories to guide the design of the product. These stories include:

  1. As a casual user, I want to be able to easily send and receive cryptocurrency to and from other wallets.

  2. As an experienced trader, I want to be able to view the transaction history of a particular cryptocurrency in a clear and concise way.

  3. As a business owner, I want to be able to set up different user roles with varying levels of access and permissions.

  4. As a casual user, I want to be able to see my total cryptocurrency balance in an easy-to-understand way.

  5. As an experienced trader, I want to be able to access advanced trading features such as limit orders and stop-loss orders.

  6. As a business owner, I want to be able to view transaction analytics and trends over a given time period.

  7. As a casual user, I want to be able to easily switch between different cryptocurrencies that I own.

  8. As an experienced trader, I want to be able to customize my trading dashboard to show the information that is most relevant to me.

  9. As a business owner, I want to be able to delegate authority to employees to manage certain aspects of the wallet.

  10. As a casual user, I want to be able to access customer support quickly and easily if I have any issues with the wallet.

Design Goals

After conducting research and identifying user personas and their needs, our team set out to design a Blockchain-Based Provenance Wallet that met the following goals:

  1. User-friendly: The wallet should be intuitive and easy to use, even for users without a background in blockchain technology.

  2. Secure: As the wallet would store sensitive financial and personal information, it was important that the design prioritized security.

  3. Transparent: Users should be able to view the history of transactions in the wallet to ensure transparency in the supply chain.

  4. Customizable: The design should allow users to customize their experience based on their needs and preferences.

Design Process

To achieve these goals, we followed a user-centered design process. We began with research to understand the needs of our target audience and identify any pain points in the current system. We then developed personas to guide our design decisions and created user stories to understand the user journey and how they would interact with the product.

We started with sketching and wireframing to explore different layout and functionality options. We then developed high-fidelity mockups using the Figma design tool. We worked iteratively, gathering feedback from users and stakeholders throughout the design process and making adjustments as needed.

Design Features

Our design includes the following features:

  1. User-friendly interface: We designed a simple and intuitive interface, with clear labels and buttons that guide users through the process of creating an account and managing their wallet.

  2. Robust security measures: We implemented multi-factor authentication and encryption to ensure that the wallet was secure and protected against unauthorized access.

  3. Transaction history: Users can view the history of transactions in their wallet, including the date, time, and amount of each transaction.

  4. Customizable settings: Users can adjust their settings, such as notifications and transaction limits, to suit their needs and preferences.

Design Validation

We conducted user testing with a diverse group of users to ensure that our design met their needs and was easy to use. Feedback from users was positive, with many noting that the wallet was straightforward and easy to understand. Users also appreciated the security measures that were in place to protect their information.

Results

Results

Our design for the Blockchain-Based Provenance Wallet was well-received by users and stakeholders. The wallet has the potential to revolutionize supply chain management by providing transparency and traceability throughout the entire process. We were able to achieve our design goals of creating a user-friendly, secure, transparent, and customizable product.

Moving forward, we recommend further testing and optimization to ensure that the wallet continues to meet the needs of users and adapts to changes in the blockchain ecosystem. Overall, we are proud of our design work and the impact it has the potential to make in the world of supply chain management.
